BOBBY BURNS formerly known as Bartjay….

He has been collecting vinyl since 1987. Experimenting with one turntable and an tape-deck at the time, he made mix tapes for his friends. Eventually saving enough money to purchase two decks and a mixer. After a few years spinning at an local danceschool, he earned his first official gig back in June 1996. Playing several hiphopparties through out the country, he gained respect warming up for huge names / acts in the industry, such as DJ Flash, DJ Kid, DJ Moortje, Postmen, E-Life, Romeo, Extince and Dignity.
February 1998 he was offered to play at the most popular R&B night in Holland at that time, "Pure grooves" at the club Sinners in Heaven, Amsterdam. This Invitation was the ticket for his first residency in an Amsterdam club. Many gigs followed, Bartjay performed on parties where celebreties like Puff Daddy, Wesley Snipes, Lauryn Hill, Sisqo, Janet, Usher, De la Soul and Montell Jordan hung out.
In 1999 he stayed over at his friends house in London and got infected by the UK Garage sounds he heard on local pirate radio-shows. He went downtown to collect some white labels and bootlegs, which he blended into his dj-sets for several clubs in Holland. It took some time but eventually everbody on Bartjay's dancefloor identified with the UK sound in the dutch clubs. Bartjay got invited for innovating events hosted by dj Joost van Bellen, such as THE JUICE@Club Ministry, SPEEDFREAX@club NOW&WOW, BINGO@club More and Ted Langenbach's SUPERBIMBO@Maastheatre. Became resident dj for CROSS-OVER and NEED4SPEED(UK), playing alongside MJ COLE, DJ LUCK & MC NEAT, SPOONIE and MASTERSTEPZ during the Winter Music Conference in MIAMI (USA) 2001.

In 2002 Bartjay decided to take his career to the next level and started producing.
“Charlie Parker” signed as his debut single on the Dutch label Groovy-Tunes, under his alias “Bobby Burns” received high rotation by dj’s such as Erick-E and Sander Kleinenberg.

In 2004 Bobby Burns hooked up with Casablanca Connect to record some vocals on some instrumental tracks. Electro housy beats filled with hiphop flavours.
“From Holland” was a result of that particular session.

In august 2006 he played the track in one of his dj sets and got picked up by dj’s Sidney Samson , Tony cha cha and Gregor Salto .
Sidney Samson and Gregor Salto just started their new label Samsobeats and were interested in signing “From Holland” on the label. After months of club promo the track found many support from dj’s and dutch fans. Dutch tourists on Crete, the Spanish Costa del Sol and Rimini Italy reckoned From Holland as the official 2007 summerhit .
Bobby Burns played many gigs at these regions to promote his new single and the crowds went madcrazy.

Dutch Spinnin’ records label was interested in licensing the track for official video and single release , already working at the time with dance artists like Fedde Le Grand , Peter Gelderblom, Erick E and Sander van Doorn. They added rising star Bobby Burns to their list. Within weeks the video FROM HOLLAND claimed high rotation - SUPER VIDEO CLIP - on TMF, the dutch affiliated MTV.
After mega sales on digital downloads , rotation on dutch radio stations 538 and SLAM FM, the cd single had been officially released in stores on the 20th of august 2007.

At the moment working on his followup and on his deeper minimal techy vibes, set to be released during the WMC 2008 Miami.
